To find out which version of Shazam you have installed, start the application and go to the 'Options' menu on your device. Product version information is provided under the 'About' link.
If you have already downloaded a previous version of the application from the App World you will automatically be prompted to download the new version when it's available. Otherwise, you can check for updates from the settings menu of the application. New users will get a 7 day free trial*, after which you can continue using Shazam for free* with limited features and tagging or pay once for Shazam Encore to enjoy additional features: unlimited Tags, Tag Chart, Recommendations, Artist Bios, Review and Discographies.
You can download Shazam on BlackBerry from the Shazam website or via BlackBerry's App World Store.

A new and improved version of the application has been released.
Your Tag List will be retained if you update but please ensure that you don't delete the current version of Shazam before updating.
You'll still be able to see your tag history and continue using Shazam.
Download the new app and simply click "Pay Now" to upgrade to the full version.
We carry out a lookup on YouTube to get the best match. However, we depend on the content on YouTube to be properly tagged for us to check this.
Lyrics are licensed to us and our suppliers on a territory-by-territory basis. So it is most likely that we do not yet have an agreement to display lyrics in your territory.
At launch Shazam 2.5 for BlackBerry will support the following languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese (both European and Brazilian forms).
Wherever possible we supply relevant content such as reviews and biographies. Where we do not have a localised version, we have chosen to give you the English content rather than nothing at all.

To successfully post to Twitter you need to enter your username and password. If you have not entered them yet, or your settings aren't correct, then you will be prompted to enter them when you press 'Tweet this Tag'. If there's an error contacting Twitter then we'll report that to you when we advise you that we couldn't tweet. In this case you will need to be patient whilst Twitter resolves their problems!

That's fine, you can continue to use the complimentary app and get 5 tags per month. You won't have access to all the features.
We want our users to have a choice as to how to pay for Shazam. Where possible, you'll be given the chance to be billed using your carrier bill in the US and using PayForIt on operator bill in the UK. If that option's not available for your network and handset, then you'll be shown an option for PayPal or credit card.
If you're using credit card payment, your transaction will be processed by our partner. You should check if your handset will support secure (https) connection before selecting 'Pay Now'. You can expect see a 'lock' symbol next to the URL or elsewhere on this page if it's secure. You can also pay for Shazam via the Blackberry App World.
You need to check and change the permissions on your BlackBerry device.

This error is normally to do with connection to the network. If you haven't successfully installed Shazam then from the Setup screen go Options > Network Status.
If Shazam is installed then go Options > Settings > Network Status. Reply 'Yes' to the prompt. Shazam will show you how your BlackBerry is connected and give you the status. For errors, contact blackberry.support@shazamteam.com.
The BlackBerry has an option within its browser's setting that can enable the browser to identify itself as a BlackBerry, Firefox or Internet Explorer browser type. In order for Shazam to detect your phone type you need to set the Browser Identification to BlackBerry, as shown below. When completed exit the browser and re-start the upgrade process, you phone should now be supported.
Check your browser settings whilst still in the browser screen as follows: Go Options > Browser Configuration > Browser Identification > [make sure you chose BlackBerry] > exit browser > re-start Shazam application -> menu > settings -> check for upgrade.
Simply follow these instructions from your BlackBerry smartphone: Options > advanced options > applications > Shazam > menu > delete
The application file size is approximately 1MB when installed and approximately 600KB to download.
To Tag a track Shazam will record and send from your device a data packet of about 20KB. The audio recording is not stored permanently on the handset. The tag information and artwork we then send to your handset normally uses around 50KB of data. The total amount of data you will download will be dependent on the number of times you view the page and what's displayed on the page.
